However, many individuals lack structured tools and methods to monitor their daily expenditures and plan budgets effectively. Manual tracking methods are often time-consuming, error-prone, and lack analytical capabilities. This project proposes the design and development of a Digital Expense Monitoring and Budget Planning System utilizing modern web technologies, aimed at providing users with a centralized, intuitive, and automated platform to manage their financial activities. The application incorporates secure user authentication and session management, allowing users to safely log in and access personalized financial dashboards. Key functionalities of the system include adding and editing income and expense entries, assigning categories (e.g., food, travel, utilities), setting monthly budget goals, and generating real-time reports and visualizations using charting libraries. These features enable users to analyze their spending habits, compare income versus expenses, identify areas of overspending, and make informed financial decisions. The system also includes features like monthly summary reports, alerts for overspending, and history tracking for financial transparency. The platform is developed following modular and scalable software design principles, allowing easy maintenance and future feature expansion. One of the standout features of the application is its interactive graphical reporting module, which provides users with visual insights into their financial data. These visualizations allow users to identify overspending patterns, monitor savings progress, and make data-driven adjustments to their budgets.
