The project examines the design and implementation of an online assignment submission system. The challenges faced by students in meeting assignment deadlines and cost associated with printing hard copies of paper, necessitated the researcher to develop a user friendly system to tackle these challenges. The system allows students to submit assignments online to a particular course lecture, who have access to the system for grading purpose. The system was developed using FLASK and MYSQL technologies. The proposed system helps reducing and minimizing human error, capable to assist lecturers in process controlling and managing students. Lecturers can check the student assignment statuses, the uploaded files online and assist them while they are working in the assignment if necessary. The proposed system decreases the complexity of managing assignments for student by providing them with the current status of their work (assignments) and the progresses with their lecturers. This system is important to replace the manual system that is used in southwestern university. By developing this system, it is expected to overcome the problems of manual system that being used. The development of this system is needed because it provides a systematic method in managing the submission of student assignments. The deliverables are including client interface, client program, server interface, server program, and email alert program. The student can ensure that their assignment is handed safely to the system and the lecturer at the same time knows that their students handover their assignment on time since there are records for every process
